Thanks for removing the bozos from the statistics, the kindle rating was useless with their ratings polluting the water.

Is it possible to compile statistics on the number of people who use the word love in the title of their review of the kindle ?
In reading a sample of the reviews many people seem to use it, boding well for its popularity

It’s possible, but I don’t know if that would really show anything meaningful. A better gauge would be how long they had the Kindle before they reviewed. And that could be a future addition to the Real Owner Ratings, though right now I need to keep updating the database and get new content on the site.

I’m glad to see the real ratings for the Kindle too! It annoys me when the Kindle is reviewed in journals and newspapers and there’s a comment about “mixed reviews from Kindle owners on Amazon’s own site” - quoting the 3.5 stars. You can tell they didn’t bother to look at any of the actual reviews, or they’d know better!

Introducing Real Owner Ratings

by Jason Schramm in Announcements on January 21, 2008

Are you tired of reading reviews from people who don’t own a Kindle or never even used one? As of last night 50.03% of Kindle reviews on Amazon are from people who have never even used a Kindle.

Real Owner Ratings filters through all Amazon Kindle Reviews from Amazon.com, and classifies them as reviews from: actual Kindle owners, people who have used a Kindle, and people who never used one. There are also some interesting statistics that the site is able to discover based on the data. Did you know that as of last night 50.03% of Amazon reviewers have never even used a Kindle? It is a feature exclusive to The Kindle Report.

This gives more accurate product ratings than Amazon’s original rating. You can also filter the reviews here on The Kindle Report so that you can read only actual reviews from Kindle owners or users. We filter out the 50.03% if reviewers who have never used a Kindle so you don’t have to.
